타데우스 로팍 갤러리는 오는 2026년 1월, 존 어터슨런던 갤러리에서 디렉터로 합류한다고 밝혔다.

존 어터슨은 1차 및 2차 시장 판매를 위해 국제적으로 컬렉터들과 협업하고, 갤러리의 아티스트 담당자들과 함께 작가들의 기관 프로젝트와 작품 인수를 지원하게 된다. 또한 그의 국제적 경험을 바탕으로 아시아와 미국에서의 갤러리 활동도 지원하게 될 예정이다.

존 어터슨은 이전에 뉴욕의 Clearing 갤러리에서 디렉터로 활동하며, 작가들의 초기 단계부터 시장을 개발하는 데 중요한 역할을 했다. 또한 컬렉터와 기관의 다양한 요구에 맞춰 협업을 진행했다. 그 전에는 런던의 Pilar Corrias 갤러리에서 5년간 근무하며 판매와 아티스트 매니지먼트를 담당했다.

존은 커토드 미술연구소(Courtauld Institute of Art)에서 공부를 마친 후, 타데우스 로팍 갤러리에서 세일즈팀 및 큐레이터 연구 보조로 경력을 시작한 바 있으며, 이번에 다시 갤러리로 돌아오게 됐다.

We look forward to welcoming John Utterson as a Director based in the London gallery, joining the team in January 2026. John will work with collectors internationally for both primary and secondary market sales, and alongside the gallery’s artist liaisons to support our artists with institutional projects and acquisitions. Drawing on his international experience, he will also support our work in both Asia and the United States.

John was previously a Director at Clearing gallery, New York, where he played a pivotal role in developing the markets of artists from their earliest stages, and working with collectors and institutions according to their varied requirements for their collections. Prior to this, John worked for five years at Pilar Corrias gallery in London across sales and artist management.

He returns to Thaddaeus Ropac gallery having begun his career here as a sales team and curatorial research assistant following his studies at the Courtauld Institute of Art.
